Food For Thoughts...

When we were little children, there was a song we usually sing, when its time for eating in school.

It says,

Some have food but cannot Eat,
Some Can eat but have No food,
We have food and we can eat,
Glory be to GOD our Lord, A-meen.
Jesus come and eat , Satan go away.

This song was what we use , to know its eating time.
As kids, we were looking forward to devour what our mum cooked for us, its a period of happiness.

In that moment of happiness, we never knew the pains our fellow kids are going through, not having what to eat.

Parents on the other hand, warn their kids never to exchange or share their foods, to avoid being initiated into secret societies.
It was rampant and parents took precautions.

While eating yesterday, I was just lost in thoughts about a Friend, who told me she was broke, and feeding is luxury, for her family.

I was so sad.
I never believed it, thought she was joking.

Then out of the blues, the song popped into my mind, I became more worried.
I gradually started understanding what that song meant.

I never knew how deep in meaning that song was, until yesterday.

Let's Read between the lines of that song.

Line 1, Category 1.

'Some have food but "cannot" Eat'.

The 'Cannot' connotes limitations.
Whatever form of limitations you can think of, that could make an individual with Luxury, food and money , having no ability to Eat, its a serious limitations.

They abound in our society.
Some may not eat totally as supposed, some may eat but not as supposed.

Line 2, Category 2.

"Some can Eat but have No food"

The 'But' connotes another limitations for the second sect of people.
They are hungry and desperate, but they Have Nothing to Quench their thirst.
In our society, these people are seen daily.
They depend on people to feed.
They don't have the wherewithal to survive.

Line 3, Category 3.

"We have food and we can eat'

There is food and no limitations eating the food.
These sect of people abound in our society, the Rich, the Middle class and the Average.
People that have at least " One Square meal " a day.
Majority falls into this class.

"We Have", no matter how little.
We Can Eat, No limitations.

Ponder about people in the two categories with limitations.
They need us, esp the second sect of people to survive.

We can't deny the fact that, we are truly facing hard times, from our work places, communities and families.

Things are rough, and no one knows how long, this would last.

It's also important we understand the power of leverage to earn extra income, doing something extra to have an income.

"Don't sit yet, Stand to get what would make you sit" - Emmanuel Iwuchukwu.

In Life, you have to understand also, that you can apply the sense in this Children's song, to judge the fact that,
Some have the Will, but No Capabilities,
Some don't have the will and no capabilities,
While some have The Will and Capabilities.

In all,
Learn to Give and Be Grateful to GOD.

One of my quotes says,
You ain't Privileged to be An Elder in your Family, just for seniority brags, but to go out, Learn about life, then Teach your younger ones with your rich experience.

In Essence,
Be Your Brother's Keeper.

Peace✌.
